Technology has changed our lives for the better in so many ways. At Ely, Dubos & Stewart, we rely on old-fashioned hospitality and kindness. Still, we also understand the important role that dental technology plays in helping us help you improve your oral health.
Our dentists are passionate about learning and continuing education, and staying current with changes and advances in technology is essential if we are to bring you the highest standard of quality dental care. Please take a few minutes to read about the technology we currently use so you can understand why we choose them and the benefits they offer.

Digital X-Rays
Our dental exams are very thorough and allow our dentists to check the surfaces of your teeth to look for cavities and look for signs of gum disease.
But they can’t see inside your teeth or under your gums where most dental problems start. And since we can’t treat what we can’t see, we take dental x-rays to give us a full picture of your oral health.
If you worry about the safety of dental x-rays, our digital x-rays produce about 80 percent less radiation than older x-rays that used film. They also give us incredibly detailed images of the inside of your teeth that help our dentists spot a cavity long before you know it exists or causes a toothache.
Better yet, our dentists can share the images a discuss with you what they see so you know what the problem is and why we recommend dental treatment. We save your digital x-rays in your patient history so they are easy to access as needed to monitor treatment or send to specialists and your insurance company.
Intraoral Cameras
At Ely, Dubos & Stewart General Dentistry, one of our jobs is to find ways to help you understand your oral health needs.
Intraoral cameras offer a way to take you inside your mouth and give you a “tour” of your teeth and gums. Our dentists move the small digital camera over your teeth, and as they do, you’ll see the magnified images appear on your chairside monitor. Now, instead of a cavity being a thing your dentist tells you about, with the intraoral camera, you can easily see the spot yourself.
Including you in your exams this way keeps you informed and allows you to make confident decisions about your oral health care. We'll save these images to your patient history so we can easily refer to them in the future as needed.
Panoramic X-Rays
When planning treatment, sometimes our dentist needs to see all your upper and lower teeth in a single x-ray image. This is a time when they would recommend a digital panoramic x-ray.
Unlike x-rays that we take inside your mouth (intraoral), panoramic x-rays are extra-oral, because we take them outside your mouth. For a panoramic x-ray, you stand still in front of a machine that moves around your head and captures all your teeth and your jaws in one image.
Because panoramic x-rays are extraoral, they’re perfect for young children or adults who have a strong gag reflex and can’t stand anything in their mouths.
TVs in Treatment Rooms
We offer TVs in all our treatment rooms, because we know how much our patients appreciate a little distraction from the activity around you. Sit back and relax with your favorite show while we work to keep your smile healthy.
